The Estate Bangsar South

The Estate Bangsar South

  • Interior Design

In the heart of the Bon estate in Bangsar South, we encountered a unique design challenge, a constricted lift area deprived of natural light. The space, though equally square, required the delicate balance of creating a vibrant living area, a cozy dining space, and a dry kitchen with a bar. Conforming to the architect’s initial plan risked yielding a mundane and claustrophobic result.

Our design solution was to infuse the lift area with the ethereal glow of natural light, artfully reaching out to the ceiling above rather than clinging to the floor. This choice not only brightened the confined space but also ensured a welcoming passage for those passing through. We were committed to maintaining the square proportions of the space, aiming to stretch the boundaries of its potential.

To preserve these proportions, we introduced a ceiling treatment that not only added a touch of elegance but also drew attention to the kitchen island. This island, almost like a protruding “Swirl,” served as a central point that paralleled both function and aesthetics. We furthered the interplay of balance by introducing an irregularly shaped dining table that, despite its asymmetry, maintained a square proportion.

The backdrop was adorned with a minimalistic pocket cabinet configuration, providing a subtle yet powerful design element. In our quest to expand this concept, the TV wall gracefully transitioned from its original surface to another dimension, featuring a sharp, contrasting cabinet form. Meanwhile, a discreet altar cabinet pillar found its place, creating division and ensuring a seamless flow throughout the space.

The master bedroom held its own duality, with two thresholds awaiting discovery. Here, we introduced distinct treatments to create a sense of depth and allure. A membrane-like wardrobe extended gracefully towards the bathroom wall, unveiling a world of possibilities. The bedroom area, on the other hand, featured an angled wall, guiding one’s journey towards the bed while subtly focusing attention on the headboard design.

The house also hosted a dual-key unit, intended to offer guests a space of comfortable solitude. Crafted with the utmost minimalism, it was a testament to simplicity and tranquility, artfully achieved through the thoughtful use of materials and colors.

In this result, we have striven to transform architectural challenges into poetic design solutions, infusing life, light, and serenity into every corner of the house.

This theme I used for my portfolio website and I find it nice and smooth and adaptive for all kind of graphic content that I could put in. Compliments!
